The Monument

 

The monument is top of the isolated stone column in the world and was built as a memorial to the Great Fire of London. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Hooke, and was completed in 1677. Monument is located at the intersection of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, which is 202ft site, where a fire was started in 1666. The height is a huge column of 202ft. Monument visitors can climb up stone stairs straight contains 311 steps to see some of the most breathtaking views over London. This may not be suitable for people with disabilities or a weak heart, but it is a web cam on the bottom of the monument that shows live images from the top.
