Harrods is one of the most famous department stores and the largest in the world. It was founded in 1834 by Charles Henry Harrod and current owner is Mohamed al-Fayed, who bought it in 1985 to 615 million pounds. It is located on Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, London. In addition to the department store, Harrods brand also applies to other companies including Harrods Bank, Harrods Estates, Harrods Casino, Harrods Aviation and Air Harrods. Omnia Omnibus Ubique Harrods motto is - all things to all people everywhere. What is now a famous department store started in 1834 as a grocery health Stepney, London's East End. In 1851, Charles Henry Harrod moved his shop in Knightsbridge, the location for the store today. Room shop, with two assistants and a messenger was transformed into a thriving retail medicines, perfumes, paper goods, fruits and vegetables under the supervision of Harrod's son Charles Digby Harrod.
